The Upward Gaze

it all comes down

the shining star

the ray of sun

the sultry rain

the rainbow down

 

we are gifted

with the idea of

looking up

of setting our sights

to the heavens

 

the fruit on trees

the birds so free

the mountain peak

we are rewarded

with what we see

 

and it all comes

down for us, to us,

so let’s not bury our

heads in the ground:
