Life is Me

p1450915

We are not here to hide
behind the veil of our fears,
glimpsing out into the world
as though it is not always
running wildly within us,
as though we are not
part of the bright evolution

We are not here to be
more faint, muted or faded
than the world we balk from
as though we need to be smaller,
or for our actions be less brave
than the the bold expressions
that stir our souls everyday

We are here to sing like the opera
that glitters under our skin,
to dance to the rhythmic cadences
that spring from Earth’s core,
to sculpt our bodies like gold and
feel it rise through us like fire:
This life is ours to claim!

Song of Body and World

DSCF2143

There are
parts of us
so soft,
so sincere,
so true,
an ache
that comes
and goes
in the night,
an ocean
a lifetime
a legend
for the ages
in the flutter
of a single
heartbeat,
the secrets
carried
on the wings
of our cells
as they
work to
generate
the matter
of our
humble
and glorious
existence.
Listen for
the whisper
carried
in the blood,
lingering
on the skin,
preparing
itself
to come
through us
in song.
This is
the song
of our
one world
and our
one place
in it. – TS

Hush –

DSCF1601

hush –
she wants to show herself
to you, to enfold you
into one of infinite
possible worlds
nesting here
all along,
with her
ethereal jewel-like colours
hues of ocean and sky
impossible to put
to word, and
the sounds,
pretty and
muted,
hush –
let us spend time here,
and find what is clear
and what is true,
and what we
can bring,
hold,
hush … – TS

Expansion

dscf8302

i can imagine
the circle breathing
taking that sweet
inhalation to allow
even more if its
beautiful, rounded
shape to fill
space.
who knows
what has always
been in the
circle, that
will reveal itself
on the wings
of such
expansion.
i breathe in
and imagine
each cell a
full, fluid
vibrant circle
growing, as
i allow myself
to have
presence,
allow for the
splendor of
my being,
and for the
endless
possibility
of discovering
the magic
in each
and every part. – TS

Where You Are

dscf3833

for all the times
i thought i’d been
in your place
without taking a moment,
a deep, long pause,
to leap over the edges
of my obstructions
and come and
meet you where
you are.

I commit now,
I promise to try,
a little everyday, to see
with the new eyes
of a baby, with an older
soul long yearning for our
communion. To come
to you with love and
the joy of discovering
who you are. – TS
