My Japanese mother-in-law, fondly known as “Mi-chan”, is immensely talented at everything artsy and craftsy, and her sewing skills are second to none. Look at this amazing wallet she has designed/made – completely stitched by hand! And using amazing Japanese fabrics, mostly fine cotton, traditionally hand-dyed … so great and compact for cards.
Do you want a Mi-chan eco-wallet of our own? Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org!
Maybe you are tired (you are not alone).
The brightness, the lighness of step
receded, past resistance, to memory.
It’s been like this maybe for years;
you’ve stopped just shy of wondering
what happens between the early years
of boundless joy and laughter, and now,
and why and how and by whose design
we’ve come to decide on a version of life
less saturated, sparkling and true.
But something stirs. It is inside you,
a gem that cannot be buried long.
It pulses, takes you on the first steps
of a journey you could not have known.
There you are, as if grace itself appeared
to lift the veil, and so you do. And see,
you are standing, has it always been like this?
On the lost wing of stunning remains:
a one-winged butterfly, larger than any legend,
resting for awhile on a mount only rising.
all we can do
is make the brave, bold
and beautiful decision
that it is not enough
to know what we know:
that we must traverse
the breadth of the oceans,
not being content
to rest where we are, but
to reach all the distant shores,
and regard what we find
with the eyes of a child,
and the soul of a sage
who knows how much
there is to learn. – TS
The circle of gratitude
that makes a world
to be thankful for
and a person flush
at the bounty
she has made.
In thanks for autumn
the reminder of every
single colour of life
and of fading away,
and for the coming
a white-washed time
and making angels
in the snow.
Thank you to all
the ones who love,
and create this
ocean where we all
swim in love
together. – TS
