Things I’ve Not Seen.

dscf8251

The path, right here
before me,
just on the edge
of the forest, it too,
with its own pathways,
the space between
neatly-arranged trees,
naked and open and pure,
and I am drawn instead
to the way the light
is dancing on the
vertical stripes of bark,
and all the years
they took to be here,
together under this
sky, and all the
others I’ve not
seen.
